There are some bloggers who take this blogging thing way too fucking seriously. They really love the notoriety and fame and they want it for them selves. I do it because I want somewhere to vent and I love writing my ish down.

I was so in love with this blog we'll just call it First Born Blog (not it's real name) or FBB. I really loved this blog, liked the writing style, loved the topics... really liked their sarcasm and wit. Then I don't know what happened... FBB started getting a little fame and all that shit went to their head. The whole aim of the site changed from merely reportring to providing baseless advice. WTF? Are you for real? Sometimes you just wanna smack a bitch in the face and say 'Nigga please!'. Critics are now viewed as haters...Oh yeah we hating alright hating the shit you spewing. I can't spend anymore time talking about this ish. FBB if you know what's good for you you'll shut the fuck up an grow the fuck up. You 25 years old? Nigga are you sure? Because you sound like you 5 years old half the time.

I'm just stating an opinion...I don't even go on that shit no more I can't take the bullshit.

I've seen quite a few movies over the past month or so. I watched "Smokin Aces" last night and I have mixed feelings about it. I like Jeremy Piven. I loved him in "PCU" loved is too weak a word though I ADORED him. He was short and cute and very unassuming. I loved him in the TV show "Cupid" I wish they hadn't cancelled that show I actually liked it. Then again I was young and I had a crush on him so I may be biased...*sigh* Ok back to the point, at least I think I had a point, I don't know how I feel about that movie. I kinda liked it, I liked the dynamics of it...I'd rather watch it than see "I am Legend" again so I guess it's a win. Maybe.

101 Things...

I LOVE those '101 things to do I I LOVE those before you die' lists, you always get some interesting ideas. A big part of my life is reading and enjoying the written word. I kinda hate it when people say '...the written word...' very elitist I think. So I've read a few books in my lifetime. I started calling myself an avid reader in University when I would scour the library for books to read. I was all the way in the back where the lights don't work properly and it smells of dust and old people. I think I was at my happiest when I was there. I read through most of the Toni Morrison they had, opened my mind to Walter Mosley, crave the surreal Octavia Butler and some other authors. I was in heaven. The Toni Morrison novels made me believe in art. Her books were works of art, I could feel and see the painting before me. Beautiful. I decided to share what I so thoroughly enjoyed. I'll try to post as many as I can remember.

So here I am at work...Trying to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth. You know keep calm before the work day begins. Someone I don't know taps me on the shoulder hands me a bright red bag and asks me to sign for it. I look around puzzled as it seems there are a few other persons with the similar bag looking quite pleased and I am thinking OK cool sure I'll sign. Though my workplace was decorated like Christmas morning with red balloons and other fandangles I thought 'Oh great another effing promotion', I had no clue the fanfare was for us lowly office workers. So upon opening the bag I see a book, a box, some envelopes and a T-shirt.

1. The book - Who Moved my Cheese? by Spencer Johnson
2. The envelopes - Letters saying thanks for being a ****** employee and US$100 (YEAH!)
3. The T-shirt - Red polo type shirt, the type I love to wear with the slogan I am ******* on the front (A few sizes smaller than my bulk but who cares right?)
4. The box - a brand new Burgundy Blackberry Curve 8320...WHAT?! Yes you heard right a Burgundy Blackberry Curve 8320.

So I'm hyperventilating thinking 'OH.MY.GOD.!!!' Over and over again. I'm thinking 'Yes! Now I can sell it and make an easy money' Alas. I'll prolly sell it within a month or so but I'm too excited... I always say that I love and hate my job at the same time and this is definately one of the reasons I like it.

Guys always say that they want a girl who's real, down-to-earth. Why are they lying?

It's OK to say you want a girl that's hot, that's nice to look at. Someone whose simpering sighs and obnoxious whines keep you interested. At least I would understand and respect you more for it. Please stop with regurgitating what you think is politically correct and what people expect to hear. It's all instinct and I for one understand that at our base we are no more than animals. We have the same principles all we did is learn how to control those base urges. We developed those super-egos and never looked back. But still we are animals and as animals we are attracted to what it is that we think is best for us. Best to have kids with, best to make us better. Best. and for certain we are a pack of wolves trying not only to be the leader but to also attract a leader.

So cut the bullshit about wanting what's on the inside because Real girls like me, down-to-earth girl like me who are often sitting alone at home don't buy it.

It's hilarious to me why the fuck you think I need to know that you know this and that person or that your degree/diploma/car/child/man/woman...Fuck I can't stand it. I need people to stop telling me dumb shit and stop abusing my senses. My workplace is like bullshit central. How much can one person really take?

RANDOM THOUGHT - Ok so I've been severely obsessed with babies, celebrity babies, babes I know, kids who used to be babies. They are so adorable and I just want a baby to enter my life. I don't want to have one (Hell No...i'm only 22 after all) but I want someone I know to have a baby so I can go through the experience with them. I love me some babies. *sigh*

RANDOM THOUGHT - I've been losing a little weight, not by effort but purely coincidence. I have less to eat and I don't snack as much and with watching TV and the internet there seems to be no time for eating in between meals. I'm trying to increase my water intake and take more vitamins. Who knows maybe I will reach my goal weight of 160 lbs one day.

RANDOM THOUGHT - When I was in high school (Big ups to the ole pink and green) my history class in grades 10 and 11 were the most hilarious and nonsensical calsses I ever had. My teacher (used loosely) was a riot, ask anyone now who was in that class they immediately start laughing and crying. WORST! I passed the time while she talked about Tainos to artistically draw boys names on each and every page of my notebook (time well spent I thought) Then when I got even more idle and she moved on to her time spent in Europe teaching (again loosely) English (laughable) to young catholic school boys I began my search for the meaning of names and I wrote the meaning for every name I had drawn in the book. Good times, good times. Reminisce.

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

September 11th huh? I watched a special on the Hstory channel last night where they showed the tragedy completely from amateur footage of persons from all vatage points in New York. It was...tragic to say the least. Tragic and sad. The World Trade Center buildings fell and I was so saddened, I was angry too. These are people's lives. People who have families and thought they would be seeing those families at the end of the day. Seeing those people hang out windows, waving whatever they could in hopes of being rescued tore at my heart. It felt like it was haoppening all over again. The firefighters, police, emergency workers...and just plain ole joe schmo who were trying to help as many people as they could. I felt as if I was watching a movie. A horrible movie.

As I watched though what I also thought about was the daily tragedies in countries such as Afghanistan, Haiti, Dem. Republic of Congo, Iraq, North Korea...it's endless...Somalia, Darfur...It's fucking endless, this list. Those people don't have cameras to document their atrocities and the few who do, what they've recorded could never be shown on television. We are bombarded by news from the US, the news, reviews...almost every feed we have is filtered through this country and of course top priority will always be themsleves. It's sad taht there are some kids who don't even know there is a whole Eastern Hemisphere. I by no means and will never endorse what happened that day, but I will certainly embrace that Americans are not the only one who suffer. They commemorate a day...what about those who live thorugh it every day. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow are all September 11th for them.

I 's a Graduate Now (I Think)

I do believe I am now a university graduate!!! Upper Second Class Honors, Yeah! I really hate UWI as you can see by this post here but I had such a feeling of joy when I saw that I am finally a graduate of that school. Feels like a weight has been lifted I feel free. Free and happy. For those persons who revere UWI more power to you but I've never been to a more depressing place in my life. I may have to go back to do my Masters but I'm fighting that with all my might!

I'm not the type who'll ever be interested in the state of my hair, whether my clothes are in style or whether my shoes have heels. I like those things I have a passing interest as would any girl but it doesn't control my life. I'm busy living and no one seems to get that. No one gets that the small shit doesn't bother me. I let that shit glide. I'll never be in fashion, I'm too fat, too unattractive but that world isn't the place for me. I'm more interested in learning all I can before my day is done here in this place where everything is teetering on an edge. I'm more comfortable being the me I care about than the me everyone wants to see.

I don't want to come off as judgmental asshole. I love that our lives are so different, our belief systems so diverse I love that, if everyone were the same life would be unbearable but that doesn't mean I want or am going to be like you. I won't agree with everything you say, lets just agree to disagree in that instance.

I Don't Like That Bitch

So I've been a posting fiend as of late. Semi-regular posts. And all these things. I'm feeling better today. I haven't been feeling very me since I was kicked out of my home and forced to live with people I don't know really well. I've been recuperating with Eanehj and her Mom because they've been like a second family to me and I needed the support. I added a new feature a little palylist of what's in my head. Anyone who knows me knows that i love the gays. I have no problem with their lifestyle and I embrace that their different. I've been having a fascination of sorts with vouging and the gay scene and so on. i just finished watched Paris is Burning, which I've wanted to see for ages. Tanks to Derrick L. Briggs and Adam Benjamin Irby's ADtv youtube videos I found out the whole movie was on youtube so I watched and it was...sad. Very sad the washed up queens the misguided new queens who searching for acceptance and love come into this scene with the hopes and expectations of becoming famous. Hopes which are most times never realized. I liked this documentary and like many other documentaries it just shows you that what lies beneath the surface of all that glamour are just some sad queens.

Resurrection

Back again to give another post, 3 days in a row can you stand it? Now onto Movies I Saw Last Week. Ok It's been more than a week but you get it.

SEX AND THE CITY - Felt like I was watching the episodes rather than a movie but I liked it though mainly because I loved the series. The story was a little weak but it wasn't all that bad. 6.5/10

WANTED - Surprising find, this was an action filled mystery that takes you from emotion to emotion from begining to end. Nice summer blockbuster ina time when summer blockbusters are nonexistent. The way the story was told was what caught me. 8.5/10

CLOVERFIELD - I liked this movie and I didn't like it. I don't think I'm the only one who feels these conflicting emotions. I was left waiting, I'm still waiting for the conclusion. In that it's both genius and disastrous. Would I watch again? Prolly not. 5/10

MEET THE BROWNS - Tyler Perry again you dissappoint me. I never expected mindblowing but I didn't expect that. Save your money and your time. Buy the play of the same name instead thats a much better choice. 3/10

HELLBOY - Yes I know I'm late. So? This was a nice movie. I loved the story and the characters. I can't say theres any one thing that was really wrong with it. Very nice watch, looking forward to HellBoy 2. 7.5/10

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 3: AT WORLD'S END - Meh...I could have done without this lackluster end to what seemed to be an amazing franchise. I repeat...Meh... 6/10

SPIDERMAN 3 - This was a while back but I remember liking the story and was really happy that Peter Parker stopped the cryin thing and was able to man up a little. LOVED Topher Grace as Venom, James Franco's cute but can we stop with the Daddy complexes already? 8/10

DEVIL WEARS PRADA - Cute movie, can't see where so much buzz came from though... The clothes were superb and Anne Hathaway was sweet. Meryl Streep, love her but not her best perormance. 6.5/10

TRANSFORMERS - Fits the blockbuster formula to the T. Kinda scruffy but cute lead actor, gorgeous but tough and emotionally scarred, obvious love interest of lead, lead actress, aliens. Perfect. The acting was good, story was fairly solid, if a bit shaky in explanations. The cinematography was magnificent. Nice summer movie. 7/10

OCEAN'S 13 - Not as good as the first two movies. Not a bad way to continue the franchise though. Pleasantly surprised. I love these movies for their innovative script and stories. Very funny, very witty movie. 8/10

THE DA VINCI CODE - I pretty subjective with this one because I really liked the book. Objectively the movie followed the book almost precisely, the acting was not top performance though and if you had not read the book the movie seemed to jump from scene to scene without much of an explanation. There was definately more explanation given for happenings than most book-movie pieces have given so that was a plus. 6/10

MR. & MRS SMITH - Another shocker but I really liked this movie. The chemistry between the leads is palpable. It really is. Both were funny, witty and not bad in the acting. 7.75/10

It was fun making this post. I'll try to do it more regularly. I hate 80% of the people at my job.

Love/Hate!

I wrote the following about a year ago. I rememer writing it and feeling such desperation and anger. I wanted someone to love me. I was crying out. By the end of it I was feeling like I had finally given myself permission to love myself. It's weird I know but I started my distancing then, I tried to be alone as much as possible. I let myself be there for me and though I do step back into that old life once in a while it's never frequent, never much more than I can handle because I want to be there for my friends and family. What I've noticed though is that I've become a tad indifferent to alot of things. Emotions seem out of place for me. They don't seem like me anymore. I don't cry anymore at all, I feel deatched. I try to care but most times I just say fuck it and move on. This has someting to do with my JOB too because though I love my job I hate it too and this love/hate thing is slowly making me crazy. I don't wanna go crazy so I stay home as much as possible.

"I have a nasty habit of making myself seem less than I really am. I take the back burner which often suits me fine. I wear black when I go out because basically it's slimming and it fades into the background. I don't want to be in the forefront thats not my space and I have no problem with persons who feel it is their space. More power to you. This doesn't mean that I am a pushover it simply means that I'm the one everyone falls back on when the front line gets too heavy and that is how I like it. I am the one you can depend on if the shit hits the fan so hard that you don't know what to with yourself. I'm always there. the flaw in tis is I'm never there for myself. There's no one for me to fall back on. It seems my role is so set in stone that trying to get out of it is harder than killing time. I'm the backup, the right hand man and if I can't get home til two in the morning with work the next day who cares, or if I realize that people are insulting me in front of your face why should I expect you to do anything about it. That's not your responsibility... It's mine...I guess it just took me a while to realize that. I think thats why I've decided to be the back up for my one man team.
